hi all,
can anyone recommend anything i can do about a terrorising elephant nose!? currently he is chasing my rainbow shark around the tank and im not sure whether he's attacking him or just being playful. he does seem to chill out ocassionally and will tolerate the shark coming quite close. he also tries to nudge my knife fish too, although not as much. cheers for any suggestions!

Sounds a little strange, they are only usually like that with thier own species. Is it new to the tank, or are your water perameters a little off? They need excellent water quality, they have even been used in industry to check water quality, the same as using a canary in a mine to check for gas.

More info on tank size and water tests would be helpful.

yes they are all new to the tank so i think it may be a case of trying to claim their territory more than anything. i am going to introduce some new hiding places at the weekend to see if this improves matters, as i think currently they are all battling for the best hidy hole. he seems happy enough though and is eating well, even in the daytime.

If they are new then they are usually only settling in so give it a couple of days and tell us then.
