On my previous post on putting hands in the water. I was wondering if anyone had heard of or experienced getting shocked from a fish tank.
I reckon that the glass (and polystyrene) would insulate pretty well and you wouldn't know untill you put your hands in. Nor would your fish.

PS my lit flourescent tube dropped in a few weeks ago. !!!! I turned it off before fishing it out though.

i have gotten a shock from lights falling in the tank before. does not seem to bother the fish but did me. little bit of a startle also.

Same thing happened to me - the light fixture got dropped and I got some shock (nothing serious). When I looked at the fish afterwards, none of them seem to be bothered at all... May be the exposure was too short - probably sub second long...
