hi
Since i bought 5 more shrimp,
(Neocaridina davidi)
I now have about 25 shrimp of all ages. I am afraid to suction them up with a regular non- electric gravel cleaner. I bought an electric gravel cleaner but i 'm not exactly sure how to use which of the 6 functions it has. I can refill the water manually but which way to use gravel cleaner. It has "internal " and internal with "pumping water".
Do both ways drain the " dirty" water?
It's a case of being technically slow and also fear of sucking up the very tiny shrimpies. The brand is Mildhug Aquarium Gravel Cleaner, 530GPH/32W bought on Amazon.

I hope you get an answer, so I'll bump this up. But I have never known anyone who used one.

It looks pretty straightforward to use, the question is when returning the water directly to the tank how good the filtration is.

Otherwise you can drop the water in a bucket and use it to fill back the tank. with adjustable flow...

I think you may get to like it a lot.

So the basic difference I see, is the addition of the filter box assembly (10-2, 10-1, 09) when you return the water directly to the tank (internal).

It can be removed when used to pump. But, I would probably avoid to dismantle it, just by removing the filter sponge from the case when pumping water out or in the tank.
