Electric Blue Lobster

Hey All,

My lobby has jus molted, and ive learnt that jus after molting they r very weak and soft, the thing is we keep him with six red bellied pirahnas, they dont fight, never even go near eachother, its jus that he keeps parading around flashing his claws and im worried that if my red bellies see this as an offer to fight, they mite hurt him? how long will he be weak and soft for?

Never kept blue lobsters before as they generally eat fish alot so my small fish wouldn't last long, but....I have kept armoured shrimp, and it will help your lobster a huge amount if your add some liquid aquarium multi-mineral/vitamin supliments to the tank as it will help speed up his molt by aiding the growth of his new shell; also adding plenty of cover, like a cave or 2, will also help your lobster as they tend to instinctively hide in sheltered areas when they are vunerable after molting .

thanks for that, well he digs his own holes, one underneath a peice of wood they other underneath one of our mangroves!! hes eaten all his old shell now apart from one claw which started to go funny so ive taken it out, hes out and about alot more now than he was last week so i think hes getting there, hes doubled in size. couldnt beleive it!!!!
