Ehiem Canister Filter

I was doing a water change and i decided to take out my purigen and run without it, no need for it. Anyways the only other thing else in there was phosophater remover and well part from pod life there was lots of ditrius at the bottom of the canister, should i siphon it out?

Yeah. I siphon the detritus out. It only leads to nitrate etc when it breaks down. Im a bit excessive though, I save every pod.
