I have just got my new setup done, with my new eheim pro filter :) Its the dogs whatsit.I can't here a thing other than water spraying onto the top of the water. Can you place the spray bay under the water? if so how.It has a dog leg on the solid pipe, so even a section of hose would't help.
I nearly came a cropper due to the following. My tank is 15" deep, if it was 12" the spray bar wouldn't fit accross the tank.
The u bend didn't fit other than tight into the corner due to the glass stiffener.

Yes you can put the spraybar below the water level and the angle it upwards or downwards or whatever, depending how you want the water flow.

Mine came with a load of bits you could 'click' together at the spraybar and intake ends to arrange the plumbing how you wanted. A friend got one though which came with a 'shepherds crook' type of rigid tube if that's what you're on about. I think we had to cut a short length of the flexible tube to allow it to join to the spraybar properly and remain horizontal in the tank.

You may need a bit of imagination to fit it!

Sounds like I have the same setup as your friend.
Do you have to have the spray bar installed, can't see why. What does it do?It does a fine job of pushing air into the water. This and my twin outlet pump may overdose my fish on too much air:)

I think the main purpose of the spraybar is to create some water movement to aid filteration and to avoid 'dead spots' - areas in the tank where the water could age slightly.

Mine is positioned along one of the short sides of my tank and the water flow (the 'aim' of the holes, if you like) is about an inch below the water surface pointing towards the opposite end of the tank and slightly downwards.

I have the intake below it in the corner (just above the sand), the theory being the flow kind of goes all the way out, down and then back again.

If yours is pushing air into the water I assume you have it mounted above the water or aiming too high? The whole of the business end of the spraybar should be below the water surface and parallel to the water surface. If the flow is too vigorous you could always enlarge the holes in the spraybar.
