Eheim (Or Other) Help!

i have a 200l juwel panorama, and have decided the filter is just pants! ive got my eye on a 2217 on fleabay, but i guess there are various others i could use. i cant afford two like most people on here seem to have, not at the moment anyway, but anything is better than (almost) nothing right?!

so do you have any recommendations? what do i look for in a second hand filter?

is the 2217 your looking at new or used if its new there cheaper from here

One good thing about an Eheim is you should be able to get the parts if you find later that a part is worn out. WD

Thanks to both of you. Yep it was a second hand one, went for a silly price so didnt bother! I might save and get a new one yet....or perhaps just choose a different one like a fluval4??

Depending on the budget you had in mind, this appears to be the best bang for the buck external. I believe "Star4" and "Hamfist" have this model and both think its a great buy... I'm ordering one in the next day or two, I think

omfg, won the 2217 today, picked it up, got it working, holy crap is that thing powerful!!!!

just need to get some media now, and run it alongside the current filter in the tank, for quite a while i'd imagine, what a month or more?
