Just wondering if anyone uses the Eheim 'Installation kits' (1 or 2). What advantages do these offer over the standard green Eheim pipes and are they worth it?

Thanks

This is the standard inlet:

Standard Outlet (you can also attach a spray bar to this):

Cheers.

well for obvious reasons i use the normal green inlet and outlets, never seen the others used but with right angles in the pipework it would slow the flow rate, so not really worth getting, they also look bulkier and so would take up more room in the tank.
with the original green ones they are a smooth 1 piece inlet / outlet so keeping water resistance to an absolute minimum, no point in using something else which is worse and probably more expensive.

I think the tops open to allow easier cleaning of the pipes, but as above not something I would spend money on unless I had it to burn so to speak.

Ok would also allow water to be poured into the filter to save sucking, and there's a few diffuser options available for them.

I find the "installation sets an absolutes boon. the flow is not restricted. the bends are just the same as the krook option (though agreed, they look square from the outside). the ports are not for cleaning, the set is removed for that. the ports allow you to prime the filter, after cleaning.
are they worth buying?
well i would not go out and buy a set, if i had the krook. but nothing would persuade me to part with them, now i got em.:hyper:
try a compromise, just buy the inlet side set. that will make you're life easer.
