my eheim 2028 arrived today im not sure about the flow end bit powerful and dont seem flow right . tried setting it up a few ways i.e how the instructions said ------------- (like that) and ive tried setting it up horizontal aswell which is better but still that way dont look right,,,

basically wanna ,either see pics of how you have set yours up or advice of a better way of setting it up....

this filter is also made very well and quiet as a mouse., so far much better than my fluval

I run a pair of Eheim Pro IIs, not sure what you are asking about- the connections or the placement?

Both mine have the intake and return at opposite ends of the tank. One spraybar is placed vertically in the back right rear and in the other tank it is placed horizontally along the top right. In both cases I drilled additional holes and or enlarged the existing ones. The additional holes help to spread out the current so it is less forceful than the stock spraybar is.

ill try and get some pics tomorrow to explain better

two things i wernt sure about .. firstly my old setup
on the filter the (sucking part) was in the middle of the tank sorry old pic and quite bad quality

now my new eheim filter the pipe is much longer and the (sucking part is near the bottom of the tank, does this matter at all...... (sorry dirty glass)

second thing about the spray bar....i have a weird shape tank so had trouble with the flow so tried the spray bar like this but it just looks ugly from the side because of the angle of the eheim part at the top...

so the holes in the spray bar flow around the tank

so tried it this way again but aimed the holes up and drilled a hole in the end of the spray bar (cap) so it flows around and also helps oxygenate the tank..

shot from the other side

so basically wanna know A. does it matter? and B. can you get different atachment ends for the flow..
fish seem to prefer the spray bar at the top, keyholes seemed to be painting loads with the spraybar on its side

hope this makes some sense...
pics of your set up would help...

Both My Eheims are used on display tanks and I go to great lengths to hide the intakes and spraybars. This means pics would be of little use as all you would see is tank with wood and plants. Btw- I prerilter my intakes using a large sponge pre-filter.

Your tank makes it hard to hide much in. However, the key to good filtration is thorough circulation. The filter cant suck up what doesn't flow into range of the intake.

Thats a nice looking tank.

Im running two fluvals on my tank, not quite the same I know, but i use spraybars too.

I have both the spraybars above each other so they both spray in the same direction to create a nice current.

I have an intake at either end.

Works fine....

Be careful with those inlets slow low to the substrate. Should your filter fail, the tank will drain to the intake level. Not so good for the floor or the fish :X

Apart from that Great Tank !
