I was just wondering how this external would perform on a 30g? And overall is it worth the buy? How does it compare to fluval externals?

Not that I have had this filter but people say fluvals often have lot's of problems and that eheims are alot better.

Iv'e got the 2213 in my 30 Gallon tank and that is great, so the 2217 would be even more efficient.
Go for it they are great. Cant help on the Fluval external, Sorry.

the eheim is quality however dont be put off the fluval's I think it comes down to how well you look after something! never had a problem with fluval! nor my eheim's!
