Eheim 2236 Media Set Up

Hi all,just bought a eheim 2236 for £20 including inlet pipes and taps and substrate for my juwel 125 chiclid tank(soon to be a180l).
I think the only thing missing is the foam media, do i need to get a carbon,a course and a white one and is the filter easy to set up as i have no instructions.??
p.s just noticed missing rubber feet of bottom of canisterdoes this matter???
