Is the 2028 still available?

Anyway, only ever used the classic series (as you know), but for price comparison, the 2217 (just make sure you by the plus version with double connecting taps) would get my vote. But the 2028 is a good filter.

I can get a 2217 new for £80 with media and hoses, is that good?

Thats really good price, the cheapest I could find was £84.95 online :good:

Ah yeah the £80 one is the Class, I can see the Plus for £84.95, what is the difference, when you say double connecting taps, why's that good?

With the plain classic, when you need to do a filter clean, you will have to disconnect the whole unit, as there is no way to stop the flow in/out, this is obviously a messy job and you will have to prime it everytime you do it (this will mean sucking on the output to get the syphon going!!! - nasty job). The classic PLUS, has double taps, so you can turn the taps off, disconnect the filter to clean and then just connect the taps back up, open the taps and the syphon is still going. Easy pessy. You still obviously have to prime it 1st time, but you wont have to do it again.

Sold! Thanks xx

If you get one and get confuzzled setting it up, let me know. Great filters IME, just the 1st time you set it up, can be intersting to say the least! :S

You know I will be asking questions lol, I am waiting for my new tank to become available to me (good times, if it comes together Evasion Evo in Maple) and it has to be complemented with a great filter, no more scrimping and saving, going for it this time

cant comment on the 2217 as ive never used 1 but ive been running a pro2 2028 for about 16 months now and its brilliant.

MM,

Where did you get your Classic plus from? I am looking for an extra filter, options are Ehiem classic or Fluv 405 due to dimension limitations, but put off of 405 due to ribbed hoses.

Thanks
