I was getting a 180 gallon but talked the father into a 240 gallon, im wondering should i have a Eheim 2028+XP3 or two XP3s? Im just wondering the eheims are so much more expensive than the xp3 but do the same thing please help me sort this out.

Eheims are a better quality filter and less noisy. The Rena XP canister filters tend to get noisy after they are used for awhile. If your going for good quality stuff I would get some Eheims but if you want some thing that will do pretty much the same job with alittle more noise then go with the Rena XP3

By the way what fish do you plan on putting in the 240g? You pretty much have endless combinations of fish. Good luck with the new tank.

well, since its gonna be a in wall aquarium, i dont think the noise will reach outside the room am i correct or are they that loud?

As for fish i have 2 10 inch oscars, a Lima shovelnose catfish, 2 plecos, and a Raphael. I am planning on getting a 2 Salvini cichlids, and either 2 rainbow cichlids, or 2 golden severums or maybe a mix of both. I really want a M. Tigrinus, but if i cant get them ill get a Royal Panaque or two. If there is anything wrong with this combo please tell me i would love to know before i make the mistake.

The XPs aren't that loud at all. I have three (XP3 & XP1), and I never hear them. I'm perfectly satisfied with their performance.
