Eggs!

Thanks Inchworm =)
The tank is a steady 23-24C
It's become a house ritual now to check the eggs LOL

Never fails when I do a large water change I'll find eggs from my albinos the next couple days, usually 50 or so. The eggs will appear randomly, but usually on the glass toward the top of the tank. I have never messed with the eggs and figured if they hatched and some survived that would be neat. Few days ago I was doing a gravel sweep and something tiny darted out from under a plant. On closer inspection it was a baby cory. He was so cute. Unfortunately he did not make it. I really hoped the little guy would have made it.

Hi JustKia :)

Any news about the eggs?

Hi droid,

That's sad. :-( I hope you have more luck in the future.

Hi Inchworm, no news I'm afraid.
They are still a creamyish white with a dark ring, no fungus on them, but no hatching either :/
So I guess after 7 days now, they aren't going to hatch - oh well, there'll be a next time.
They haven't spawned again this week, but I'm sure they will when they are ready.

Aww, droid, what a shame, fingers crossed for the next little guy

Well, I ditched the last eggs - I guess they just weren't meant to be.

I've not had another albino spawn yet, although I did a water change yesterday and rinsed the filter (in tank water) so there is a much improved water flow and now the male is all excited and hassling his chosen female again - bless 'em.
But... my one of my peppereds has spawned twice - well she too ate the first lot (silly corys), but she's hidden some under some plants and stuck a half dozen to the glass.
Decided I'm letting nature take it course here as they are only young still. If/when either of them start laying bigger amounts of eggs I'll try again to hatch them =)

Totally unplanned I managed to end up with 1 male, 2 females each of albino corys, peppered corys, zebra danios and leopard danios!

Hi JustKia :)

That's too bad about the eggs. When they didn't get fungus, I was hoping they would hatch for you.

Peppered corys are sometimes bad egg eaters. I gave up trying to raise any of them because the male would chase the female and try to eat them while she was still holding them in her fins. When I'd try to get him out with the net, he's drop back and mix with the other males so I couldn't tell which one was which.

Maybe you'll get a nice batch from the albinos. If so, please let us all know. :D

Well, woke up this morning to about 20-30 eggs stuck to a floating feeding ring - nice and easy to move into the hatchery, so I couldn't resist
There's also several spots of 4-6 on different areas, going to leave them as no-one seems to be showing interest in eating them.
I'm pretty sure these are peppered cory eggs, but who knows? And now, I'm playing the waiting game again

Hi JustKia :)

Well, I hope you have good luck with this batch of eggs. After all your patience last time, you certainly deserve it!
