Pic of a two pepper cory eggs before I separated them. Do you agree the lighter one is fungused and the darker one is ok? Never tried to raise peppers before. The albino eggs always stayed a milky colour. These ones are darker.

My Pepper Cory eggs started out like the lighter coloured one but today they seem to be looking more like the darker one, could yours be from two seperate spawns?

Maybe some are milk chocolate and some dark chocolate

That is possible but before I left for uni that day, I saw my peppers spawning and when I found the eggs on the java fern (not the usual place for my albinos to put them) I assumed it was my peppers. My albinos spawned yesterday but we will wait and see what happens :D. I've separated the light ones from the dark anyway. Its possible my bandits spawned but its highly unlikey I think. These eggs are certainly darker than the usual albino eggs I've seen.

Hehe, mmmmmmmmm yum

Hi Lynz781 :)

Both the eggs in the picture look sound. If an egg has been attacked by fungus, it will be very soft and smush when you hold it between your fingers. If it feels firm or rubbery, it most likely doesn't have fungus. Do you remember what they felt like when you moved them?

The difference in color could also be a difference in the time they were spawned. Do you have more than one female?

This is true Inchworm, when I separated them, they both felt firm. I have one female and one male pepper. One female albino and two male albino. I can't sex my bandits just yet as they are all the same size or all male perhaps. I'm keeping an eye on both colours of eggs anyway. Will let you know.

Heres a rubbish pic comparing the two colours. If the lighter ones are not fungused then that would be wierd cuz they were all stuck together as if they came from the one fish.

The first lot of albino will be off to an aquatic shop in a few weeks. Bar one, he's too stumpy and won't grow.

Well thats good that you have some where to take them. I have a really good local fish store that will take mine too for store credit. I try to keep and raise as many as I can.

Hi Lynz781 :)

How are the eggs doing? Have any of them changed color more or definitely gone to fungus?

Thanks for asking Inchworm. The darker ones have gotten darker. They should hatch tomorrow. The lighter ones, well I took a couple out and they still felt firm but I'm still convinced they are fungused. 8 are dark and 7 are white/ creamy colour.

Caused a little bit of a stir in the fishy nursery tonight. Was doing a water change so had to take the net that I had the eggs in out of the tank and rest it in a container. So i left them next to the tv and had to roll the dark ones away from the light ones cuz the get all mixed up. I'd say about half an hour later I went back to them and three had hatched.

Had a feel of the light ones, I'm not one hundred percent sure all of them are fungused. But part of me says they are :(

if they are fungused they go fluffy - its more likely you are looking at fertilised and unfertilised ones :)
