Hey, im new to all this fish stuff, my husband is the one that set everything up..
But he's away at the moment..

I think one of my fish has laid eggs...? Ive got a sand on the bottom of my tank and behind a rock on the floor there are brown egg type things? Which ive googled and look like eggs? There small and its not a bubble nest...

But i know at least 6 of my fish are pregnant? But there all livebearers? or whatever its called?

If someone could help me in telling me which of my fish lay eggs that could really help..

I have:
Cory catfish X8
Mollies X4
Platys X5
Guppys X15
Nean Tetra X20
Plec's X2
Angel fish X1 (But i had 1 in my tank about 3weeks ago for a week, but kept niddling and attacking other fish, so returned the fish to the shop)
Loach X1
Silver Dollar X2
Gourami X3
Dwarf Gourami X2

Any help would be appriciated? Should i pick some of the sand and eggs up and move them into a nesting plastic thingy i have?

PLEASE HELP!

I can safely say that they are not from the mollies, platies or guppies - as these are "livebearers". The others are all egg layers.

Thank you... I Wish i knew what fish it was..

Do you rekon i should take the eggs out? with some of the sand so i dont disturb it too badly?

Ive got 3 guppies currently laying on the bottom hiding, breathing very strangely...
And i know there pregnant as a friend is a manager of a fish shop near me and has told me they are, and they are pretty fat now.
Is this normal?

Ive also got 2 eels?

the only ones that would lay eggs in the open like that are the corys, tetras, gouramis, and silver dollars. all the others can't or wouldn't lay eggs on the bottom like that. But you will find out soon enough when they hatch. for a better Idea check out which fish is taking care of it or staying near by.

You have a sufficient school of corydoras. I would guess that the eggs are from them. If they are brown, they have probably gone bad. Doubtful it's the neons as well, they tend to be finicky at the best of times. When did you find the eggs? Corydora eggs will hatch in about 3-5 days as long as they are still healthy.

+1 here :good:

How big is your tank?

My tanks 400 litres... and we have another 240 litre tank set up still as were about to convert it into a marine tank.. so i could always take the eggs out..

The corys are staying close to the rock but so are a few other fish.

Ive attached a picture of one of my platys wondered if any one knew how long shes got left..? or if shes even preggers? shes acting weird and running away from every fish that comes near... and eating plants?

Im going to try and net the eggs out with some of the sand and put it into the empty tank :)

Thank everyone for the advice, keeep it coming LOL could do with it :)

Just leave her be as it's best not to stress her, then net any fry into the hatchery.
