Hi all and a happy new year.

1. This is my first post this year, thanks for all your help when setting up my tank last year. I have in the last couple of weeks noticed what i think is a Dragon fly larve in my tank he is at the moment a welcome and interesting addion as he has been eating all my snails. However he is getting quite big so have him in a fry cage in case he takes a liking to fish!. Do not wish to kill him as i have read they can live up to five years. I have had a look on the net but all the Dragon fly larve i have seen are green, mine is black here he is:

2. My second question is what are these eggs, my Corys try to eat them would be nice to know?

here is a link to a pic of the eggs:

I have a 60 l Tropical tank with 9 copper Harlequins, 4 peppered Corys and 3 ottos. you cant see any fish though as they are a bit camra shy for some reason! Heres a link for a pic of my tank.

I didnt buy it mate it just appeared in my tank! i think its a dragon fly larve. Nasty looking thing eh.

it looks like a dragonfly larvae and they eat fish so I would personally step on it. However, if you have a local creek you could let it go there, or keep it in a pond with some plants

I have him living in a varse with a couple pants some bloodworm and snails. will see what happens. Shall i keep you posted?

Hi matthewgardner :)

Those are indeed eggs from your C. paleatus (peppered corys.) Once they have started spawning you will probably get some more eggs from time to time. If you'd like some help raising some, join us in the corydoras section. There are a number of members breeding them and we'd be happy to help you. :D
