Okie I got a new betta today (bluish purplish CT) from my lfs becuase it was having a rough time at the lfs =S He was put it in those horrid cups which was kind of a bad idea because he just thrashed around whenever his neighbour flared at him or if someone tapped the cup he just went like beserk  so, I decided to take him home to see if he'd calm down a bit. I didnt want to put him in my small tanks becuase I'd thought he'd feel isolated so he ended in my kuhli loach tank along with my pair of baby convicts I got a week or two ago and he seemed ok but he got wierd whenever my convicts like swam past him he would dart into the plants and hide there for like a minute or so and now, he's just hiding in my house decoration thing. Is he just way over stressed or is it just his personality?

I'd say he's probably overstressed.
You might want to consider getting him his own tank after all.
He'd probably be much happier :)

Yeah, I agree. Get him into his own tank, position it where he still gets attention without getting freaked out. Then he'll probably warm up to people and other fish after a while.

Good luck, he sounds beautiful.

He sounds like a good canditate for being along ;)
I have two bettas that are very nervous like that. They need a very low-stress environment.
Good for you for getting him out of the store; Shyboy almost starved to death because he was too afriad to eat.
