my pleco has alge like stuff coming out of him any ideas

What color is it? If it's white then it is a fungus of some sort....I don't know about any other color though.....

I answered a question like this recently in the Catfish Cradle but you did not reply so I thought it must have gone away. Maybe you should do a search because I think I found some good info for you.

I really don't think you should consider adding any more fish to your tank while you are having these problems.

You should still find out what caused it, the hairy stuff going away might be a sign of it getting worse.

What are your parameters? How are the other fish?

im gettin a 75 tomorrow the parms are fine the pleco isnt messy he really dosent poop that much

St cichlid make up your mind in another post today you stated you were getting a 55 soon { a few weeks} and 75 after that.. and another post recently that your tanks were diseaed and out of parameters..
Whats the deal??? are you just lieing to get people off your back about the overcrowding and tank problems or just confused in your post?

theres times that i think you just post stuff to see what kind of rise you get out of people....

it can be done...but disaster may strike...like what happened to me.... Plus your zebra pleco will die in that tank. they will not fight for food. I wouldnt recommend all those plecos in one tank. i lost all but 3 in my tank (had 12)....i was stupid in know...
