You can either add a tsp of chelated iron to your trace OR mix up a seperate iron fert. 2tsp of chelated iron to 500ml of cooled boiled water. Dose 5ml per 50L twice a weekgreenmumma141 said:Hey, I also just got my shipment of dry ferts in the mail They gave me some "iron chelate 13% EDTA" that I didn't even order... what should I do with it?! Also, if I don't have the magnesium sulfate, can I still follow the mix the rest of everything together, or will it mess up the whole thing?! Sorry to keep coming up with questions for ya, I posted in the fert section but no one answered me lol
Thank you very much your very kind. Yes I do agree they have a lot of growing to do yet. Im going to be over run once they all root in loldaizeUK said:Looks beautiful! Lovely variety of plants there. Will need to see when the stems have grown but I think it will look amazing!
No problem. If you have any red plants I would say add 2tsp of chelated iron to your trace. If not 1 will be plentygreenmumma141 said:Definitely hard I read something about iron clouding the water, if I add that to my trace mix, is cloudiness going to be a problem you think??? I really appreciate the help, I'm certainly not a chemist by any means so it's a little confusing, but I must say I kinda am loving mixing my own ferts haha. and one tsp of the iron for the whole liter of trace?
Hahaha Thank you I really do appreciate the positive feedback. This Old Spouse said:I liked it the way you had it before with the vallis. I am absolutely kidding. This tank is gorgeous!! I'm really curious about the lily-looking red leaved plant. Is it indeed a lily of some sort? Stunning tank. Really.
No problemgreenmumma141 said:Yep, I threw my tiger lotus bulb in and the next day it sprouted It hasn't been the fastest growing plant, but we'll see now that I have all my fancy ferts and stuff I really do like it though, can't wait til it takes off. I found my bulb on ebay.
Thanks for the help again slim!
Thanx mate I swear they are already starting to take off lol all reds so far are doing great and have kept there color which is good. That was my main concern.Livewire88 said:Looking great, I must say I am a big fan of stem plants. Not only are there so many different types and colors the speed they grow works wonders with keeping algae at bay.
Give it a few weeks and your tank is going to look even more emense
Sorry only just seen this. I hope iv already answered your question in the other thread/message?greenmumma141 said:These are the guidelines I've been following, but I upped the traces to 1/4 tsp. My traces are plantex CSM+B. should I dose the traces daily instead of 3x a week???
40-60 Gallons (152-227 litres) 30ml solution or 1/2 tsp KNO3 3x a week 18ml solution or 1/8 tsp KH2PO4 3x a week 8ml solution or 1/8 tsp K2SO4 3x a week 10ml or 1/8 tsp traces 3x a week
No because its not the same thing. TBH Potassium sulphate isn't really needed as their is enough Potassium in Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Phosphate.greenmumma141 said:Yup. Except that I don't have magnesium sulfate, i have potassium sulfate, so I was wondering if I should use the same amount.
