The last 2 leaves to come up on it have gone out of the water (the tank is 2 feet deep) and been singed on the lamps.
Are all new leaves likely to grow out of the water? Or will it "learn" that it has to max out at 2 feet?

all you can do is trim the leafs as the reach the surface, give us a pic it sounds like a plants and a half.
