Easy Low Requirement Plants

so i have learnt a fair bit about south east asian freshwater plant species as well as fish species
i wanted to learn a little more about what would be included in a south american biotope, and was looking to see if anybody could name me plants from this region which are easy to grow and do not require much other than being planted left to grow and maybe the odd dose of ferts

Brazilian pennywort. Easy to grow. Low light. Great for fish. Pretty fast frowing. And only around $3.50
