I bought 6 comet goldfish for my 50 gallon pond 7 days ago... The guy at the store and alot of online information says their very active, and my goldfish arnt active, they just sit their in a little ditch by my filter, they wont eat anything i give them (worms, floating goldfish food, some ant eggs, and smashed up fishfood) ... At first i thought they were just adjusting to the tank but now i dont know what to think...

what temperature is the water?
goldfish should not be fed if it is 10c or under,
if it it 11-16c they should only be fed a low protin food like wheatgerm.
above 16c they can be fed regular flakes, pellets etc.

They are probably scared, give them a few weeks to get used to the situation, and whatever you do do not try to get them riled up by splashing the water or poking them with a stick or something, you have no idea how many people will rap on the glass if they see there fish unwell in a tank, a bit like a friend coming over and banging on pots and pans to help you get over your brown bottle flu.

well some good news, their moving a bit more now, they moved to a cynder block i put in, but their still not moving much... :X

oh well, maybe they'll be more active when the waters warmer...
