Yup yup. Convicts are the easiest but also some of the most ferocious once they pair off.

Redundant to add, but yes, the convict cichlid is by far the JAW fish of the cichlid world. Put a group of 6 juveniles together, and you will get atleast one pair, if not two

Convicts are Central American cichlids. I have found that some of the easier to breed South Americans include the more common acara types, such the blue and port acara.

Technically, convicts are central american, not south american. But they breed like rabbits.

yeah acara i find are some of the easier SA's to breed.
As for convicts, they're central american and tolder b'strds when it comes to breeding.

Ok!... Now I get it.... When you're talking SA cichlids, You're reffering to South Amarican Cichlids and not South African Cichlids....... I withdraw everything I've ever said on this forum about Tillapia Mombassica and Sunfish.......

All I had to do to breed mine was buy them and take them home and they never stopped..

Are they male and female? You might want to post pics. What size is the tank? What else is in it? And what is the water parameters?
