I have recently won a 180 litre tank from Ebay which i will picking up tomorow.

Lets have some fun.

What would you sugest I stock it with? After it is cycled of course.

I would like a reasonably big school + 1 or 2 big centre peices. I am going to be using sand substrate so some burrowers or diggers would be helpfull.

Whats your thoughts?

Big school of corydora's!!! They look great when schooling, and also brilliant to watch them digging. Plus you can get multiple different cory's and they should school together.

* 10 Cory. jullii or triliniatus
* 10 lemon tetras
* 1 harem of SA dwarf cichlids.

Out of the 3 types of Cory's I have, I like the sterbai's the most!

:rolleyes:

* 10 Cory. Panda
* 10 Rosey tetras
* 1 harem of Apistogramma Cacatouides

mmm...dream tank.

Hehe, that will work! I'd go for 2m 5f cockatoos if the tank is 3+ft long, if it's shorter, than 1m 3-4f. You could maybe even get away with 15-20 tetras, but I'd set it up first and go from there, as always..

If it was me i would go for
1 BN plec
3 Banjo catfish
4 Apistogramma agasizii (1m 3f)
20 emperor tetra

Tank Dimensions are 101 x 40.5 X 50 cm. So it is 3ft 3 inches or so long.

Heh.. Just ordered myself a pair of Cacatouides.. :good:

But a whole tank based around them would be lovely, I may have to put together 1m3f and lower my number of Corydora's.

What we need is someone who creates synthetic oak leaves so we can have them as a landscape all the time.

So Tom, what are you thinking for your tank (before we get carried away and stock it for you haha)

I like the idea of the Cockatoo jobbies, the bloke is one lucky fishy.

I really want cardinal tetra.

I love the idea of a big group of corydoras as well.

Well cockatoo's are lovely, absolutely lovely, and every single type is gorgeous, I like the triple reds and super reds, but they come with the super price tag.

well I reckon in your 3'3" you could manage;

1m 3f cacatouides (whatever colour you want)

6 corydora (whichever species you want)

and a school of 10 cardinals.

I think you wouldn't be overstocked with that, but i'm no expert.. Would look fantastic though.

You should be able to have 2m 5f cockatoos, 8-10 medium Corys and 15 cardinals easily in that tank.. assuming you're planting it, that is..

Does that mean i'm not overstocked then??

3ft tank,
9x bumblebee goby (smaller than tetra's)
9x Medium Corydora (4 of them less than 1cm atm)

and 2x Apisto Cac on the way

... go on.. tell me I can get another 2 females.. go on.. tell me..

What are all the dimensions?

BTW, aren't bumblebee gobies brackish? Assuming they aren't, and there won't be territory conflict between them and the cockatoos, then you should be able to get another couple of females.

3 males will be to much for a tank that size its best to keep just 1 male to multiple females unless you have a 40G+ tank IMO.
I personally would go for Apistogramma Agassizii i think there alot better looking. You could get away with 1m 3f or if you went for a smaller type like Apistogramma Panduro you could get away with 1m 4f and the females are alot more colourful than female Agassizzi or Cacatouides
