i don't know whats wrong!!!!! my male molly died like 3 weeks ago from dropsy and today i woke up and found my juvenile molly dead! and my female black molly is sick 2!!!!!! the one that died had no symptomes the sick one has her tail clamped and a flat almost sunken belly (i think)it's not big like with dropsy. other than that she lies on the bottom sometimes and has problems eating... but she loves to eat and doesn't refuse food. :/ she just can't seem to keep it in her mouth. my params are 0ammonia 0nitrite (no nitrate test) ph 7.4 and 6tsp of salt for a 10 gallon tank. i have done a water change to no prevail. should i seperate her? i think it's an internal parasite (she doesn't really poop cuz she can't eat much) i don't want to lose another :-(

I am having the same problem in my tank. I bought a plecostamus 3 days ago, and it died yesterday. I did all the tests on my water, everything is fine. I haven't noticed any symptoms in my other fish,(I have platy's, guppies, and mollies). I decided just to be on the safe side to do an ich treatment, and hope for the best. Sometimes mollies just get old and weak, and die off, but better safe than sorry! My other fish are still happily swimming around, so although I am sorry to lose a molly, I am almost sure it is due to old age really. Good luck to you and your fish!!!
