I have a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium and for the last 3 days I have woken up to 1 dead fish per day. I have lost 1 flame Gourami and 2 Zebra Danios. Last week I introduced 3 Boesmani Rainbow fish, and 2 days ago I noticed that they were getting Ick. So I raised the temperature, did a 50% water change and waited to see if it cleared up. It didn't, so yesterday I gave a treatment with Quick Cure.
What is weird is that the gourami & danios that died didn't have spots (ick) that i could see.

My water parameters are all normal, as they have been since I set up the tank in July. I do a weekly 25% water change and add "Cycle" every time I change the water or add new fish. The only thing I can think of is that a couple of weeks ago I added a bunch of live plants to the aquarium. Could that have something to do with it?
Any advice would really help. I'm going to finish the treatment for Ick, but my fish are not behaving normally. These are the first casualties I've had in my tank - I feel like such a bad parent!

Thanks,
Darren

How do they look like when they died? Perhaps it's the rainbow fish u introduced last week that have infected them. It's recommended that new fishies r quarantine for at least weeks or more b4 joining other fish...

They were just dead. I think that it must have just been the ick. from what I read, they suffocate from it. But they never had any bumps. I have been treating them and the spots are gone, but I'm going to treat 3 days past the last sight of spots to kill the ick in the water. I have been doing more frequent water changes too. They all seem to be bouncing back and we've had no more fatalities.
I've read about the quarantine tank, and that would be a good idea...I just don't have the space or money right now. Thanks for your reply though...I was really panicking when they were dying!

No prob! Glad there aren't anymore fatalities! :)

But usually I'll treat for a week more just in case.
