Fish Fanatic
Hello,
When I first got my tank around 8 months ago I didn’t do to much research into the fish I was buying, I mainly went on what the helpful pet shop man said.
I have a 30x15x12 tank which is 19 UK gallons(i posted that it was around 40 before, had it in my head it was 39 UK), after substrate etc around 18, at the moment I have 2 plecos, angels, a bala shark and some other fish that soon will be way too big for this tank (even though i was told they were fine for it)
Now I have been doing some research and have got into the hobby a lot more, I know that it’s cruel to keep these species in my tank so I want to change my current stocking for some dwarf cichlids.
I recently bought a lovely pair of German blue rams that I have posted photo upon photo of, I think they are so beautiful and ok for my tank size.
Now I am asking the superior knowledge of the people in this forum, some of you have probably kept cichlids for longer than I have been alive (19 years).
With my current tank size will I be able to keep another pair of dwarfs in their and hopefully a small pleco like a L260 Queen Arabesque?
My lfs's don’t tend to stock any apisto's etc so I would be restricted to buying from somewhere like Tri-mar. They have some lovely cichlids on their site, has anyone dealt with them before? (Mail order)
My water is around PH6.8 and set to about 74oF which can easily be changed, atm the substrate is small gravel but I hope to change this to sand, it will be well planted. There is fluval 304 running on it atm, not at full flow though.
Thank you in advance, sorry, I’m not trying to make any of you feel old,
Tom
