hi, i have some excess dwarf water lettuce. it is the same species as water lettuce, but grows more compact in an aquarium. it is excellent at removing nitrates and excess nutrients from the water, giving you better water quality, and reduced algal growth. i am selling it in portions of 10 plants (each plant roughly 1" diameter), for £5 including p&p. payment by cheque only please, as i don't have a paypal account.

All negotiations and questions must be posted in this sales thread and NOT by PM.

Communications may only be taken to PM once the sale and price has been agreed upon on the open forum and payment/collection details need to be given.
The agreement of the time and date of collection or postage, or confirmation that items have been posted should also be posted in the thread.

hi, im interested in some, have you sold here before? can anyone vouch for you? sorry to ask :)

about the plants....

what light do they prefer?
how big do they grow?
do i need ferts?

mark.

hi, i haven't sold here before, so no one can vouch for me. but i assure you that i am genuine.
they aren't too fussy about light conditions, as they float on the top, so they get a lot of light even if your lighting isn't very strong for submerged plants. fertilizers are not essential as the fish waste should provide ample nutrients, but obviously they would spread faster with fertilizers. they don't grow much bigger than 1"-1.5" diameter in an aquarium due to lack of nutrients/lighting, but if you grow it in a pond it will grow into proper water lettuce, up to 6" diameter.

cheers :good:

i have a plan. the first person to buy, i will send the plants before they send payment, so that you know i'm genuine.

cheers :good:

hi, am i selling too expensive, or is it just that no one wants it?

cheers :good:

hi, they don't need much maintenance, just thin them out a bit if they spread too much and start to block out too much light. if your tank is quite well stocked, then you don't need ferts, but they would do better with ferts, especially if you have high lighting, as plants have a higher nutrient demand the more light you add. they should be ok without ferts, as the fish waste provides nutrients for them, and they are great for lowering nitrates.

cheers :good:
