what are the ideal tankmates for pea puffers? and will they eat live shrimp? wood shrimp to be exact... Thank you

I was about to get one of these, so ive been doing some research. I found, generally, if big enough, shrimp will be fine. Dont get small one or else live food is on the dinner plate.

i have a wood shrimp about 1.5-2" big, you think thats safe to put pea puffer?

I think it would be safe, but it really comes down to the puffers personality. It can probably kill the thing if it wants.

There is no straight answer to that since individual DPs behave differently. I have been keeping Amano and cherry shrimps with my DPs and so far so good. Except, DPs love baby shrimps. They keep my cherry shrimp population in check.

On the other hand (just for your information), a couple of years ago when I went on holiday for two weeks, my Amano shrimps got badly nipped (legs and antennae). I think it was due to lack of food during that time. The DPs will attack when they want to irrespective of the size of the opponent.
