I wasnt sure if this was the proper forum, but here goes....a week & one day ago, I got 2 dwarf puffers. One was sorta round, not plump & the other thin. Out of 8 days they have only eaten twice. Now they are both thin :-( I have offered them frozen bbs both ate this 1x,bloodworms both ate this 1x,flakes (I swear they laughed at me  ) freeze dried bloodworms, live snails (tho I think the snails are abit to large  )& frozen daphina(sp?).They swim up look at whats offered & roll their eyes & swim away :X . I've read of them being prone to internal parasites & my question is....the med that was suggested is supposed to be put in their food...ummm, if they don't eat how can the med make them well? btw, they are in a 5 gal. aquarium, alone, w/ water & filter media from a fully established, healthy tank, so water params (tested this AM) & cycling isn't a factor in this problem. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I've heard that crushing snails for them to start sometimes helps stimulate their appetites. Mine have taken to frozen bloodworms from day one. I thaw them in a shot glass filled with conditioned water and slowly pour them in. They dive after them. If your puffers have internal parasites "Discomed" by Aquatronics is probably the best remedy.

Thank you for the reply. While waiting, I decided to crush a snail, , icccccck, (now I'm a snail killer :-( ) & the rounder (Puff) of the two immedately started to eat. :D I was so happy :D . Then I noticed that Puff wouldn't let n'Stuff have any!!!! soooooo, I moved part of it to the other side of the tank & Puff would zip back & forth blocking n'Stuff from any at all :sly: , now I'm thinking that n'Stuff gets a bite or two after meany err I mean Puff goes to sleep....otherwise his/her skiny lil self would be dead by now, right? How do you manage a Puffer that wont share?

My wife used to chase them with the net handle  :hyper:
I would keep feeding at both sides of the tank at the same time, eventually Puff wil tire of hoggin the food when he finds that there is lots available
