Dwarf Pleco......

what else do you have in the tank ?
Clown plecs and candy stripe plecos only reach approx 4"
There is no such thing commonly available as a "dwarf plec".

nothing else in the tank yet.......

fishless cycling!!!

wanting to get info ready for when i stock.....

probably start with neons or something similar......

I'd not recommend neons as a starter fish. Even if you have a newly cycled tank. Neons have a far better success rate in a well established "mature" filter.

i would go with danios rather than neons as they are much hardier nd you could get a britlenose plec

no not at all. There is no such thing as a "dwarf plec".
Bristlenoses reach an average of 4" - 6".
If you just google any of those names you will get some more info on them. There are also some pinned profiles here in the catfish section. Or you can check out www.planetcatfish.com for more detailed information and a stack load of pictures galore.

i reakon the best way is you go out and see what your stores stock in the way of plecs, you list the ones yousaw that you liked and then we'll tell you if there suitable.

there are literally hundreds of plecs that could be classed as "dwarf" that only reach 3-5inches.

The only true dwarf pleco is the otocinclus. They stay very small indeed but prefer to be in small groups.

Absolutely not a clue what that is. Doesn't even give one result in google for fincitris :dunno:

Looking at Bunji's comment, it has to be ancistrus. There just is absolutely no such thing as a fincistris
The Common Bristlenose will grow to approx 5 " and tend to be good community fish.
Just make sure you have hiding spots in the form of wood or slate.
