Yeah floating plants would be good I do like the tannins sometimes but not always some tanks and fish just dont suit it.

I more question what best to feed them? I know they will take lives and frozen but whats best to make the main part of there diet?

I just fed mine live and flake - new era pellets the small soft squidgy ones work well.

Would tetra prima work? i have some for my apisto and when i had angels and they both love it.

As for compatible tank mates - in a 2 foot tank tough to suggest maybe some small plecs, tough barbs and danios for the upper levels - maybe livebearers actually but like some of the rarer guppy sized ones with less finnage?

Thanks for that i just sent him a message. Wouldnt they munch on something the size of a guppy? What type of barb would you recommend because most get quite big.

I dont know enough about livebearers to suggest one but I just meant something like smaller than a swordtail maybe platty size but not a fan of platies haha.

Haha im not that keen on livebeares if im honest. I would prefer some type of barb or tetra.

black widdow tetras would work

Go for tall bodied barbs/tetras not pencil shaped ones. For example, black phantom tetras, diamond tetras, bleeding heart tetra etc.

Though as I mentioned, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you ended up with 1 fish in the tank.
