Dwarf Gs And Zebra Danios

honestly, i would say that it would depend on the size of tank you have. in a smaller tank i think that the hyperactivity of the danios stresses out the gouramis a bit. this is based on my own, not very extensive, experience. i'm sure that they'd be fine in anything over like 25 gallons though because the gouramis probably would feel less constantly surrounded by them.

They are OK in that they don't fight each other; there are 2 DGs and 4 ZDs in my tank right now. But I would say that larger tanks (100l+) are best for the mix: as has been said, the ZDs like to swim very fast and the DGs are far more sedate.

If I were to put a fish with DG, I would go with the more sedate rasbora species. They're just less, shall we say, "boisterious" than ZDs. If it was a larger system, I'd say knock yourself out, but for smaller tanks, rasboras are the way to go with DGs. They are also found in the same habitat, whereas danios frequent faster moving waters.
