I have only one dwarf gourami left in my tank, i have tried everything i can to stop this infection which only seems to be attacking them. They are developing what looks like a sore in the corner of their mouths which is red and then it spreads around their mouth area which seems to cause some swelling as well. I have tried the mouth ulcer treatment the fungus and finrot and a number of others but they dont respond to anything. Ive put them into another tank on their own when they get ill to try and stop it. As anyone else ever had this, do you no how to stop it and what is causing it, none of my other fish have this or showed any signs of this infection. Thank you.

Dwarf Gouramis are prone to a bacterial infection. It's probably too late but your best bet is to keep the water good quality and hope for the best.

You could try pimafix/melafix. It treats all bacterial/fungal infections, it may not work, but it's worth trying.

Thanks for your help, ive just got in from work and have done another water test, all seems fine. Still totally baffled at why only the gourami's, although he is still eating, swimming, and behaving as normal just like the others did. They lasted like that until their death, will get some pimafix/melafix and see if that works. Thank you.

Are you sure that this isn't iridovirus?

This disease does affect dwarf gouramis and is apparently peculiar to them and one or two other species.
I did read somewhere that 22% of the dwarfs imported from Singapore to Australia had this.
The upshot was that if 22% going into Australia had this, then 22% being exported to other parts of the world also suffered from it.
Have a look at the bottom of this page http://www.fishchannel.com/fish-health/disease-prevention/fish-viral-disease.aspx to see if your fish exhibits any of the same symptoms.

We had two DG's, one we returned to the LFS as it kept going at the other and the second I had to euthanase as it gave up the ghost so to speak. But I do wonder to this day if iridovirus had got to it.

Thanks for that David, i just read about it. Ive had my gourami.s for about 3 months and they have some of the symptoms iridovirus, im just worried that my other fish might go down with it as well. This tank has been running for about 6 months and does not have a lot of fish in it as yet (120L) i have 4 guppies, 2 western rainbows, 3 bronze cory and 2 pepper cory, 2 mollies and some apple snails. Would any of these be affected by this virus?
