Fish Herder
Hey guys! Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I am just learning about cichlids. Anyhow, I have an aquarium that is around 16 to 17 gallons, it has been set up for a couple years now, and I used to keep livebearers inside. Well, now I don't have any fish inside, because I decided to try my hand at a different species of fish. Okay, so my question is, are there any types of cichlids (dwarf, obviously) I could put in there and keep them comfortably? There are no other fish in the tank, and I have some caves and stuff I could set up. It's completely live planted, with white gravel as substrate. (Yes, I know, not a very good choice...)
I understand that a 16/17 gallon is pretty tiny, especially for cichlids, but I also have two 10 gallons currently set up and established, and a 57 gallon that I'll be setting up soon. So, the 16 gallon can be just temporary if need be.
Oh, and here are the dimensions: (In case they are needed for whatever reason)
24" long, 14" tall, 12" wide.
Thanks in advance!
* Oh, and please don't get mad if this is a bad decision! I don't know a lot about cichlids, (you could call me a beginner) so I'm doing research before I make a decision. Thanks!*
