My mortar and pestle have become one of my most used tools, for my aquariums… right now I find I use it for all my fish except my Cichlids, and Tin Foil barbs… I started “dusting” to supplement my bio film for my Hillstream tank…in that tank, I started with Bacter AE, to supplement my bio film, and maybe I just got lucky, but the Hillstream’s also go crazy for dusted up Bug Bites… and now they get a variety of foods dusted, that they enjoy… I’ve also found my Tetras, both South American, and African, seem to prefer their foods dusted as well… tank mates in those tanks ( 3 lined glass cats, in the African tank, and Cory’s and Angels in the South American tanks ) also eat dusted foods… I also add some to my Cichlid tank, specifically for the Oto’s and Plecos… Angel fish with their smaller mouths, are on the fence with the dusted foods… the ones in the South American Tetra tank seem satisfied with dusted foods, while the one in the Cichlid tank, being more rapidly growing, and larger, seems to only want bigger foods… right now I have 4-5 different prepared foods, that I’m dusting up

I dust food for my fry tank and my nano tank with CPDs and emerald dwarf raspora.

I use this pill crusher, I find it easier than the mortar and pestle, it makes a fine crumble that is not too powdery and ends up in the filter.
