Dust In The Water?

Ok so my aquarium seems to have lots of brown dust floating in the water and the fine filter floss isnt taking it away..

suggestions?

have you got bog wood in there
if you have its the tanning's out
of the wood you will carbon to remove
this also test you pH see if that as dropped

Tannis from wood shouldn't show up like dust. It could be an algal bloom. Have a close look at it and see if you can assertain it's colour and what it's composed of.

er.. just looks like a powder floating in the water....

def not tanin... the bog wood I have in the tank stopped leaching (badly) a few months ago

It's dirty water (algae).........I had the same thing.
