I was in a reptile shop today, and then this guy just walks in and dumps a pillow case on the desk... i was like... whut cause i was the only one there... so i opened the bag and there was a bosc monitor, about 1ft-2.5ft including tail... it looked rough as! Shed everywhere, a stump for a tail, claws longer then my fingers... =( was horrible...

so i was like... right, lol... so i went to get the woman who works there and she was like... "omg, the only viv big enough is the burmese pythons viv... i hate the burm"

so i was like... "great... looks like im moving a burm LOL"

so we used the pillowcase to move it cause it was striking at me..... got the bosc in the viv and put the burm into a rub and put him out back....

I WANT THIS BOSC... it is sooo nice. I was holding him for about 20 mins and he only once threw a paddy. so calm, and soo gorgeous! Shame i have no room! :( :(

Viv = vivarium... a reptile tank lol

Aw, at least he was brought to a place that takes care of animals. It could have been worse?

I hope he finds a good home... maybe at your place? :p

But I've applied for a job there... so I hope i'll be able to look after him!! lol... would be cool if he became a shop pet! :D

esfa will you ever learn you never DONT have room you just need too find it lol
hmm a BIIIIIIIG peice of glass across one side of the room there ya go :p

Thats really sad but unfortunately this seems to be quite a common fate for more exotic pets.

I've been looking at buying a lizard and the amount of classified ads i've seen from people wanting to get rid of theirs is shocking. Its as though people put no thought into the long term costs and care involved.

Ideally, I'd love a snake but i'm still living at home and my mum is terrified so i'm hoping a lizard will help mellow her somewhat

If you're after a "mellowing" lizard, i'd have to say a leopard gecko! 100% handleable, come in so many different colours, friendly, small, easy to look after.

Or even a Viper Gecko.... amazingly cute!

a pic to prrove how cute:
