Dull Neons?

when you feed them bloodworm, do you chop them up at all? The worms seem quite large compared to my neons!

I have had my neons for 15 months now so I daresay they are about as big as they are going to get. They may be quite a bit larger than yours if they are only young.

I just put the bloodworm in as they are and they love them. I keep frozen bloodworm all the time but they like live bloodworm even better so when I am passing the LFS I often pick some up for them.

age can also affect colour, i have a 5 yr old neon, he's lost a fair bit of colour the last yr or so. But he's not long for this world now!

I heard that neons can sometimes last up to 10 years so there be life in the old fish yet

there may well be, i doubt he'll last more than another yr though. nothing specifically wrong with him but you can just tell from his overall health that he's getting old now!!

Well I hope he lasts a bit longer for you - I can't imagine not having tetra in my tank, they are just such nice fish.

he's in with about 18 cardinals in Ian's tank, so we won't be tetra less, not really that bothered tbh though not my fave fish. just he was oen of the first fish i ever bought

Do you find that Neon tetra mix with cardinals ?

I have neon tetra in my community tank and also cardinals in my small tank waiting to go in. I have a couple of Angels in my community tank so I need to ensure they are big enough to be safe before I put them in.

I just wondered if they shoaled together ?

yeah he hangs out with all the cardinals.

Do you think that any tetras will shoal with the others?
I've got 11 neons, (the lfs miscounted when I bought ten  ) and I'd like to get a few other small tetras, but I was worried that there isn't room in my 55 litre tank for six more.

I'd like a couple of cardinals and an x-ray (Pristella)
