Dropsy?

Hey all,

Today I noticed that he was just hovering around one area of the tank. I attached a picture for you guys to see. Now from what I understand dropsy is almost incurable, especially after being uncovered at a later stage. Should I euthanize my poor guy, to save him from the unbearable pain or try to save him...

I can't make much out in the pic i'm afraid. Can you enlarge it?

How many gallons is the tank please?
How many fish and which type?
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph?

Once scales start to stick out last stage of dropsy. Organ failure.
I would try and save him., It can work sometimes.
Epson salt baths to help draw the fluids out.
Don't feed any dried foods for a few days. Just shelled peas.
If you can isolate the sick fish. Anti internal bacteria medication.

It does look bloated, but it quite hard still to really tell by the angle of the pic.
Does the fish look bloated to you?

Yea it's definitely a little bloated, the pineconed-scales are more noticeable to me though.

I have a 10 gallon tank, 2 adult guppys, 1 guppy 4 months old (not sure if that's considered adult), 5 black neon tetras, 2 albino corys, and 1 guppy fry.

Nitrates are a little high though, gonna have to do some water changes.

How high are the nitrates?
