Dropsy - Urgent Help Needed!

I'm sorry for your loss.
My beta, Oscar has dropsy.. would you mind me asking how long your beta had it before passing away?

I noticed that he had a swollen body and was pineconing saturday night and it is now midday tuesday. For a few days before the symptoms were visible however he wasnt eating and not his usual self, I just thought he wasnt hungry. I tried medicating him since sunday morning however it did not help at all. I hope you have better luck than I did. I would recommend making Oscar as comfortable as possible. I wish I could of done the same in time.

Oscar has been like this for five or six days I think, it may not have been that long I really can't remember.
He hasn't changed at all that I have noticed.. other then the fact that he is sick.
He's active, friendly and hungy!.. like all the time!
I really hope he makes it, thanks for the reply. It helps to know what to expect.
Once agian, sorry about King Arthur.

RiP so sorry to hear but glad you let us know. He obviously fought hard t keep with you do not feel bad. Look after No1 now and give yourself time to adjust.
Some may laugh but i did grieve over my fish and it's only now getting easier to say.

Thats great news Oscar is still active and eating! Maybe you should try epson salts and medication? Might help, how old is he?

I brought him a little more then two years ago.
I put epson salt a few days ago, but i'll try it again and see if it helps.
Thanks!

Sorry he has died. One of mine who was ill (not with dropsy) internal ..swam to the top of his tank sort of spiralling came up for air again and then just floated back down dead. Really upset me at the time. at least he is no longer in pain.
