Hi
I saw just yesterday that one of my bettas has dropsy and is severely bloated, his gills stick out and he lays at the bottom of the tank. He does not come out to eat and is uninterested in stuff going on outside his tank in the room, which is not like him.
I do not have enough money, Time, or resources that I know of to try and cure him.
Do you think it’s best to leave him and see how he does or to euthanize him?

It’s a tough decision. If a fish is suffering for no reason it is probably best to euthanise him/ her, if all else fails. Sorry to hear about this.

Dropsy is painful. I’m so sorry but I would euthanize him.

wrap it in a couple of paper towels and whack it on the head. Then disinfect the bench or whatever you put it on to whack it.
