Looking at the 'Boyu Drop Checker Type 1' on aquaessentials.com it comes with a PH reagent, and recommends the 4dKH solution that others have recommended to me before (sam/jimbooo).

Now.. when i look at the 4dKH solution on that site it says:

In order for this solution to work correctly, it requires bromothymol blue which reacts with the 4dKH solution and changes colour according to the amount of C02 in your tank. The bromo blue needs to be purchased separately and is available here in the form of Hagen ph low range test kit

So can anyone tell me if the PH reagent that comes with the drop checker works with that solution or do i need to buy some different reagant?

One last thing whilst i'm here: whats the difference between the type 1,2,3 and 4 checker, or is it just the style.

Cheers

Bromo Blue is in most normal Ph Reagents but not all.

I use the Low Range one that came with an API master test kit and it works fine.

I got the type 1 from aquaessentials, dont be supprised if you dont get the ph reagent! i didn't.
As for the different types i pressume it is just style.

Yeh I use API, it says in the instructions that the reagent is bromo blue :)

Think the difference between the checkers is just the shape, they all do the same thing.
