yep there is. linux live, it allows you to boot from a cd, into linux without installing it. you can transfer all the files, if your dickie drive will allow it, then use the last post i made to repair the installation. in theory if you image the drive, everything should be fine after the transfer. i would suggest a P2P network for the cd, as many seem to try and make you pay for them, odd in an open source OS. i used "linux rescue windows" in my search, got lots of info with it! hope this helps more
