I went out scavenging for some driftwood earlier today, found some really nice pieces...But some I'm not so sure if I should use...OR what I can do to make them usable. So I'd like some help.

Pieces I'm almost 100% will work after some scrubbing and boiling/soaking.

This piece could work...maybe, but the smaller roots may be a problem. May need to plop it into the oven to dry it a bit more...

Although taken from a tree which has been in the stream for years and years...This one may not be dried out enough...but that would be fine as I don't really like it all that much.

And this one.. I would absolutely love to use... But I'm afraid it's been waterlogged too long. Could I put it in the oven to dry it out and then use it? I would really, really like to use this piece if at all possible.

I had peices pretty similar in my tank with no problems.
^_^

Oh? I'm just worried because a few ( namely the pieces I want :D ) don't seem to have been dried out much...I guess the main question is...could I just pop it into the oven, sand, or sandblast said pieces( granted I can find someplace to do it ), and would they be safe?

Personaly I'd boil them a few times to kill off any nasties,,,,assuming of course you can find a pan big enough to put them in  I got fed up with my tank being and uky colour from the bog wood and boiled it for approx 2 x 35 min sessions and hey presto no yellow water anymore.

Looks like a bath job to me.
You will need to steralise the wood in boiling water to kill parasites.

Just wash it and put it in your tank. How can it be "too waterlogged" to put in your tank?

Agreed, you want it warlogged to be in your tank anyways, else it will float and that will not look none too good. Plus, how freaking big is your tank? Some of those pieces were massive and you almost have enough to start a wood pile.... haha
