Drift Wood

I have a 125 gallon tank with two small peicec of driftwood in it to help with the PH and also I like the look of it. However the driftwood is giving off color. I havve boiled the wood 5 times for 15 minutes at a time, I also left it in costant steeam of water for 3 weeks and still today it is giving off color. It is not bad, but my tank is so much brighter an nicer when I change the water. Is there anyway to stop this?

I'm afraid boiling the wood only makes it worse. Some bits of wood do leach tannins for a long time. You could try carbon or Purigen in your filter,

I did add carbon but did not help much. So frustrating. I have very large drift woods I wanted to add to tank but not with the issues I have with the little ones. The 5 large ones I never boiled too large for a pot just under running water for two months and still give off color. FRUSTRATED especialy when I see a picture of the tank of the month thats so clear and spotless.

I can't really help, tbh; I like the look of slightly tannin stained water (and a lot of fish do too, especially my Amazonians).

strange i have 2 very large bits of drift wood in my that never leaked any tannis.
i put it in at start of fishless cycle and its been in there now 4 months and never leaked. it is defo drift wood and not bogwood??/

The best and cheapest thing you can do is do regular water changes. Otherwise you're going to be spending loads adding carbon to your filter...

If your objective is to use the wood to lower pH, you will need to accept the tannins, they are the thing that lowers the pH.
