dried water residue

Hi,

I had some bad residue left on a tank i bought. I was wondering if any mehtods besides the old windex or alcohol that i could use to get it off the tank. Its on the outside so i can use anything that might hurt the fish.

Try mixing an abrasive solution, water and baking soda or water with salt work well. Scrub that on there and wipe clean. Razor blades work well also.

Don't use either of those suggestions though if your tank is acrylic, you'll scratch the heck out of it

Im sure mine is glass

If it's glass you'll be fine with all the above mentioned
