I wana take a 200 gallon sump with micro alge and mirical mud, 50 gallon rdsb , 100 gallon live rock chamber and bullet skimmer and put it under a 10 gallon with whatchman goby and pistol shrimp.And have all the plumbing run down and be in my basment.

Can you say no water changes.

Mine might actually become a reality in the next year, it's an 8', 180-240 gallon tank with either my 55 or 77 gallon tank as a sump/refugium.

Do you really want to know? My dream aquarium wont come until I get my dream house, but here goes. My dream aquarium will be an outdoor behemoth on property in south florida. The tank will be open topped (closed automatically for rain) and viewable from four sides, one of which will be the outer wall of my house. I figure the tank will be approximately 200x150x30 feet in size so that its large enough to both dive and snorkel in (thats 46,000 gallons of water). It'll have to be made of paned glass with concrete supports to hold the weight and it of course will need to be built directly on to bedrock.

I dont THINK I'll have to light it since it will be outdoor and get direct sunlight, but if I do have to light it, I'll need to use 1000watt halides for sure. Probably use lots of LARGE centrifugal pumps for water movement and maybe even a diatomaceous earth filter to clean the water. Protein skimmers the size of people, massive fulidized bed filters, ozonators, and a rowaphos reactor at least the size of a 55gallon drum. The toughest part will be hurricane proofing the whole structure and having a generator the size of a semi on backup for when the power goes out.

Stocking I've still yet to fully decide on. I'd probably do a region-specific stock say indonesian or solomon islands type ecosystem. Think one of the main tanks from the atlanta aquarium in your backyard...

To be honest any tank I end up having is a bonus. I only started out with one, now have 3 and 3 fighter tanks. Geting 2 more tanks soon and we're going to set up one as a marine. Can't wait!

My dream aquarium [system] (which may become fully operational within the next 2 years if all goes well; all I have right now is the drilled glass to build the main display):

72"x48"x30" Low-iron glass aquarium displayed in the finished part of my basement with the 10'x12' storage room behind it as the equipment room. It would have 3- 400 watt and 3- 250 watt MH HQI Pendants with Icecap ballasts with varying spectrums along with 8x 36" T5 actinics and moonlight LED's run by the Aquacontroller 3 Pro on a modified (for my viewing convenience) 'natural' sun/moon cycle to promote spawning. I would have a 180-gallon acrylic sump with a 40-55 gallon refugium/dsb with 4-T5 10,000K and a 4' (other dimensions depend on what I can fit) frag/fry/juvy growout tank with 2- 150 watt MH HQI's and actinics if necessary. I would run a GEO Calcium Reactor controlled by the Aquacontroller as well as 2x In-line filters with activated carbon (replaced every 4 weeks of course) and phosphate remover. I would run ozone (as needed) as well as 2x 36w Turbo-twist UV Sterilizers. I would have an acrylic 40g breeder (probably barebottom) quarantine tank for those sick fishies (if I can manage to catch them) and for new additions as well; it would be stocked with some live rock and inverts and it's own UV Sterilizer, HOB refugium and a HOB skimmer. For the main system I would run a Aqua Medic T5000 Twin and an automatic top-off system using a niveaumat pump and float valve dosing kalk/ro water solution mixed by a GEO Kalk Reactor in a 100-gallon Rubbermaid Commercial Stock Tank. I would run 3-4 In-Line Pumps and have 3-4 returns along the back of the aquarium to create constant circulation throughout the tank along with 4-5 powerheads on the Aquacontroller's wave system for a wave effect. I would have about 200-gallons of mixed saltwater on hand at all times in case of some kind of emergency (power outage, ammonia spike from dead inhabitant, etc.) layed horizontal in a large drum about 6" above the main display to simply be able to open a valve to get the water out. Finally, The equipment room would be kept locked with a deadbolt on the inside; away from the 'curious' and sometimes 'devious' household family members' tampering fingers (wouldn't want to lose a several thousand dollar investment because my idiot brother got mad at me and decided to tamper with aquarium for revenge or a curious parent decided to check out the equipment room while I was away and accidentally messed something up without knowing).

I dont have the iching for one huge tank, but id rather have many small tanks. I want one Seahorse/Pipefish Planted SW tank, one decent sized SPS reef, several different 2' or 3' cubes to hold various pairs of clowns, and a large prop. system for my mushrooms.

I think I'd spend the unlimited budget on a nice boat and supplies to just tour the world and dive all the reefs and swim with all the fish. No maintenence and I could see all the species that are impossible to keep.

Short of that my dream tank is a 8x8x3 freshwater setup with stingrays along with breeding facilities to keep the freshies in the trade. With the export locked down they are becoming harder and harder to come by.

I already have a 300 Gallon Acrylic Aquarium on the way to house 2 Brown Banded Bamboo sharks long with other saltwater fish. And my dream was to own sharks so as of right now I have reached that goal. As for my dream tank? I have very big plans for my future so I like to think I will be able to afford a big tank. I am thinking about 50,000 gallon saltwater system w/ coral. Which will house 3-4 Blacktip Reef sharks, possible 1 Whitetip Reef shark, and 1 Zebra Shark. Along with moray eels, multiple other fish, tangs, clowns, triggers, puffers, angels, butterflies, possible have a nice open area to house some nice stingrays possible 1-2 Southern Stingrays. Thats my dream system! Oh ya also have the whole system built into a marble / granite base with 3 large windows to view the system.

Well I am closing on my house next week and we will see If I ever get enough money and talk the Mrs. into it but my dream tank would be to take over the middle bedroom and turn it into a tank room. The tank itself would the length of the wall which is 11 feet in length, the tank would be 4 feet wide and probably 4 feet tall. The tank would be viewed through the wall and in the hall with the sump refugium and hospital tanks and skimmers. I would build a deck in the middle up to the tank so I would have easy access. Not a clue what the stocking list would be but I would have to have a school of Anthias. Now I just need to save some money and work on the pitch to the wife.
