Hello All,

Discovered a strange insect in my tropical fish tank the other day so I did some research to find out what it was and it turned out it is a DragonFly Nymph. I took it out of the tank straight off and transferred it to a jug with some tank water as I didn't want to kill it. The little guy is still alive and I wanted to know if I could transfer it to a friends pond or if it is too cold for it to go outside? Also if it is too cold will it harm my fish (Zebra Danios, Pentazona Barbs and Goldline Rasboras) if I transfer it back to my tank?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to harm it if it means no harm!

Whatever you do,don't put it back in the tank! Any fish that venture near it will be eaten by it, particularly smaller ones. It'll be fine in an outdoor pond as that is their natural habitat, don't worry about it being too cold.

I wouldn't kill the horrid creature, but I certainly wouldn't put it back in my tank. It should be fine in your friends pond.
